Simultaneous Interpreting
Conferences or lectures where sound-proofed booths are used by interpreters for simultaneous interpreting require two or more usually three interpreters per language. Each interpreter works for 20 minutes at a time in his or her language booth (one booth per language) and then hands over to one of the other two interpreters. This system is essential for correct simultaneous interpreting (alos called conference interpreting).
Consecutive Interpreting
Consecutive interpreting (in which the interpreter translates what one person says, and then in turn translates what his or her opposite number says in reply) needs only one interpreter - who can often interpret between three or more languages where necessary.
Although interpreters often are able to work in several different technical or business fields, nevertheless we recommend that you send some of your documents in advance to help them prepare for their work on your behalf. They will then be aware of the products or services concerned and will be able to provide the world class service that you deserve.
